FAQ’s
We understand that you may have questions regarding which treatment would be right for you. Of course, the best way to find out is to call us and we will be happy to help. However, we hope this little guide will help clear a few things up.
What should I wear during a session?
We advise patients to wear loose fitting clothes as every treatment will begin with a postural assessment and range of movement tests. So, it is best to bring a pair of shorts, and for ladies, a vest top or similar.
Sports massage works best directly on the skin therefore some degree of undress may be required during treatment, but we always have towels at the clinic to cover over the body parts that are not being treated.
Should I Feel Soreness or Pain During a Sports Massage?
It’s a myth that sports massage must be painful to be effective. Pain during a massage isn’t a sign that the sports massage is helping. In fact, pain can cause muscles to contract, making it harder for the massage therapist to ease tense areas.
Open communication with your therapist is key to a treatment that meets your needs. If you have an injury or chronically tight or painful areas, be sure that your therapist is aware of it before the start of the session. If the pressure is too intense, tell your therapist
immediately so they can use less pressure.
How many sessions will I need?
The number of treatment sessions which are needed can vary from person to person. Ideally, if you came in with specific injuries or complaint, you will have your first assessment and treatment on your first visit, then we would like to see you again in 1 or 2 weeks for a
follow up.
The Therapists will be able to give you an estimate of how many treatment sessions you will need to achieve your goal after your initial assessment.
Most our patients who are not injured visit us once a month in order to prevent injuries and keep the muscles relaxed.

Is acupuncture safe?
Yes, if performed by a fully qualified practitioner is it
completely safe. All needles are one use and disposed
of immediately after use.
But I`m scared of needles, will I feel them?
Acupuncture needles are much finer than the needles used for injections and blood tests, you will probable not feel them penetrating the skin and once they are in place, they are hardly noticeable.
How does acupuncture work?
The insertion of the needles produces natural chemicals in the body called endorphins, which help decrease your perception of pain. The overall goal of acupuncture is to reduce pain while increasing blood flow and stimulating muscles and nerves throughout the body.
